Panama Country Club

Panama City, Florida

The golf course at Panama Country Club was built in 1927 by W.C. Sherman and famed designer Donald J. Ross, ASGCA. At just under 6,700 yards, the course offers subtle contours, narrow to medium width fairways, and provides a great test of golf for all handicaps. The greens are all-new, strategically sized and are very indicative of the era in which they were originally built. Multiple tees are available, ranging from Championship up to the forward tees that come in at 5,400 yards.

As you’ll soon see, the course is also a sanctuary for Northwest Florida wildlife. While you play a round of golf, you may see eagles, egrets, herons, turtles, and even the origin of our mascot who you’ll see in our logo, the famed “fox squirrel.” There are no homes on the interior of the course, which leaves a nice protected habitat for most all coastal wildlife. After being temporarily closed to repair the damage wrought by Hurricane Michael, Panama Country Club’s golf course is once again open to members and the public.

The country club hosts the Sherman Invitational Golf Tournament each year on this course, which brings in some of the best amateur players in the region. The golf tournament was first held the year the course opened in 1927, and is still going strong today as the oldest continuously-held amateur tournament in the Southeast.

Daily beverage service is available on the course, along with a full service driving range, short game area, and two practice greens available for your enjoyment. We are located in Lynn Haven, Florida, just north of Panama City. Call 850-265-3055 extension 2 to schedule a tee time, or extension 3 to become a member. You can also visit our website, panamacountryclub.com, to schedule a tee time and we encourage you to follow us on social media.

Origins Golf Course

573 Pathways Drive, Panama City Beach, FL 32413

Origins Golf Course was designed and built with the “short course” concept at its core. The mission: make golf more fun, accessible and attractive to families, beginners and casual golfers. Via its non-penal design and manageable distance (approximately 1,800 yards) the Origins Course both appeals and caters to novices. Yet its regulation-length holes and greens dimensions provide enough challenge and strategy to retain the interest of avid and experienced players. Consistent with the Scottish origins of the game, in which six, nine and 12-hole courses were commonplace.

The name, derived from the course’s eminently walkable routing, is an overt nod to the traditional origins of the game. The course was designed by Love Golf Design, founded by PGA Tour player and PGA Champion Davis Love III in the late 90s. Known for designing traditional golf courses with classical elements, Love Design and St. Joe share a commitment to creating golf experiences that are interesting, enjoyable and challenging.
